C-1, the only die marriage used to strike the entire mintage of 1829 half cents. This near-GEM quality example has a full, vibrant luster with about 50% original mint red color that has mellowed with accents of violet. The devices are sharply struck up and the eye appeal is spectacular for the grade. PCGS 6, NGC 2, CAC 1. No PCGS example has sold in auction ever, while the last NGC coin sold in May 2003. The current PCGS Price Guide value is $2,600 and that really is just conjecture, as none have sold. The Newcomb-Green-Boyd-Newman-Missouri Cabinet coin, a PCGS MS65 RB CAC sold for $18,400 in January 2015. This coin will see very serious bidding from half cent collectors! Cert.
