FROM THE SAND HILL COLLECTION. B-4. This is a very attractive and very high end AU58 1818 quarter. This coin is extremely close to a full Mint State grade, and the eye appeal is likely finer than many lower-grade Mint State coins. With just a touch of high point friction, this coin has a wealth of mint luster under a layer of rich slate-blue, olive-gold, and russet-tan toning. The eye appeal is very nice and this coin is totally original. PCGS 39, NGC 32, CAC 9. The most recent example to sell in auction realized $4,700 in the 2015 FUN auction. More recently a non-CAC example sold in the 2017 ANA auction for $5,405. This coin is bound to fetch in excess of the $4,250 value in the PCGS Price Guide. As expected, this type is very scarce in Mint State, and having a look like this, we know this coin will attract strong bidding. Cert. Number 26648691 PCGS # 5322
