- 1788 Massachusetts Cent. Ryder 10-L, W-6280. Rarity-2+. Period After MASSACHUSETTS. VF-35 BN (NGC). A predominantly medium brown example with outlines of pale silver gray to most of the devices. The strike is generally well centered, if flush to the upper obverse and lower reverse borders. Moderate flan flaws along the upper right reverse border have also resulted in soft definition in the opposing area at the lower right obverse. Otherwise we note universally bold Choice VF detail throughout the design. Ryder 10-L is one of the more frequently encountered die marriages of the 1788 Massachusetts cent, the present example seemingly earmarked for inclusion in a circulated type set. PCGS# 312.
