- Frosty white luster abounds on both obverse and reverse of this superb gem. Fields are smooth and virtually mark free and devices are fully struck. This popular Red Book variety shows bold doubling on the reverse, most clearly visible around the legend ‘E PLURIBUS UNUM’. PCGS 25, NGC 5, CAC 34. No coins have been graded higher, but clearly the population reports have not been adjusted for resubmissions seeking an elusive MS67 designation. Listed in the PCGS price guide at $4,250. Last auction recorded a price of $3,087 in August 2017. The only Walker die variety to be listed in the Red Book, and the highest grade obtainable. A must buy to complete a high-end set. Cert.
