FROM THE PERFECTION COLLECTION OF CAPPED BUST HALF DOLLARS One of the FINEST KNOWN O-104s and a glorious GEM 1831 in general. What else to say other than WOW! This is a truly marvelous and beautifully preserved PQ Capped Bust half dollar. A strong satiny luster blooms below a dappled golden toned antique patina that has splashes of iridescent multicolored hues. A totally original beauty that has a decent strike and generally clean surfaces. The eye appeal is very high end for sure! PCGS 71, NGC 42, CAC 17. There are four coins graded MS65+ at PCGS and there are only eight coins graded higher. The most recent PCGS MS65+ CAC to sell was the Konstantine Collection coin we sold in September 2018 for $22,325. Prior to that, one sold in November 2015 for $17,625. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $17,500. This is a sensationally high end example worthy of a strong bid and placement in a great type or date set collection. Cert.
