- GREAT BRITAIN. Trade Tokens. Wales. Anglesey. Copper Penny Token, 1787. PCGS MS-63 Brown. D&H-81. Obverse: Veiled Druid's head left within wreath; Reverse: "WE PROMISE TO PAY THE BEARER ONE PENNY" around initials and date. A pleasing example of this popular Welsh token type. The well-struck details are accentuated by rich brown surfaces mixed with flashes of red coppery brilliance. Only occasional marks or rub are detectable on this otherwise nearly unhandled piece.
