The SINGLE FINEST DCAM 1864 half dime graded by either service, this black and white contrasted GEM is spectacular to look at! Struck during the height of the bloodiest year of the Civil War, only 460 Proofs were struck, and high grade examples are rarer than that low figure would indicate. Highly reflective, deeply beaming mirrored fields are clean, clear, and have an intensely blinding flash. The razor sharp devices stand out from the fields with a thick, creamy white frost. The eye appeal is truly spectacular. Only 460 Proofs were struck. PCGS 1, NGC 0, CAC 1. This marvelous GEM has been off the market since October 2008!
