(t) CHINA. Kirin. 3 Mace 6 Candareens (50 Cents), CD (1901). Kirin Mint. Kuang-hsu (Guangxu). PCGS MS-62. L&M-538; K-431; KM-Y-182a.1; cf. WS-0438. Variety without dot in Manchu script and with inverted "A" in "PROVINCE". Rather enticing and alluring, this nearly choice survivor radiates with lustrous brilliance and a steely gray tone, with some hints of olive nearer the peripheries. Meanwhile, some slight striking weakness on the central portion of the dragon side is the only aspect that prevents an even higher designation. Estimate: $4,000 - $6,000.
