- 1793 S-2 R4+ Chain AMERICA PCGS graded VG10. Medium to dark chocolate brown. The surfaces are dull from a thin layer of natural oxidation, and this cent has the look of an early copper that has never been brushed. No verdigris, and the only notable marks are a dull nick at the right top of the N in ONE and another under the F in OF. The date is easily readable but the lower half of the 1 is weak. The legends on the reverse are strong, stronger than those on the obverse (which is typical of Chain Cents). Our grade is VG8. A decent lower-grade example of our first type of cent struck at the US Mint in Philadelphia. Estimate Value $10,000 - UP
