- 1862 Three-Dollar Gold Piece. AU-55 (PCGS). Handsome medium gold patina with a bold to sharp strike and ample remnants of a satin to modestly semi-reflective finish from the dies. From a mintage of just 5,750 circulation strikes, survivors of which are thought to number fewer than 300 coins in all grades.
