- EGYPT. 500 Piastres, AH 1340 (1922). NGC PROOF-62. Fr-25; KM-342. British Royal mint. Upon the end of the British Protectorate in February of 1922, Fuad ascended the throne as the Sultanate of Egypt and immediately took the title of King Fuad. Light signs of mishandling consistent with the grade showing light wispy hairlines in the fields but does not overly distract. Appears to be conservatively graded. Estimate: $3,000 - $4,000.
