A dramatic field to device Deep Cameo contrast gives this GEM a remarkable look. The thickly frosted devices are razor sharp and look like they were carved by hand from a block of ice. The mirrors are deeply beaming and offer the utmost in clarity and cleanliness. Virtually untoned, there is a dusting of the palest clear gold near the peripheries. The eye appeal is truly magnificent and were it not for a tiny break in the frost on Liberty's cheek, this coin would have been graded PR67 DCAM. The quality and eye appeal are top notch and totally off the charts! Only 792 Proofs were struck. PCGS 4, NGC 1, CAC 1. There are only two PR66+ DCAM and as a PR66 DCAM, this GEM sold for $22,800 in the 2020 FUN auction, and was the first time since 2005 that a PCGS PR66 DCAM sold in auction.
