- 1841-O Liberty Seated Half Dime. V-4. Medium O. MS-64 (PCGS). CAC. This is a sharply struck, fully lustrous near-Gem bathed in richly original toning. Direct lighting calls forth particularly vivid colors of powder blue, orange-gold, lilac and medium rose -- very attractive. Although the New Orleans Mint delivered a respectable total of 815,000 half dimes in 1841, circulation claimed the vast majority of those coins. Only a tiny fraction of the mintage is known today, most survivors worn to one degree or another. Mint State pieces are particularly rare and command considerable attention whenever they appear at auction. PCGS# 4329. NGC ID: 232Z. PCGS Population: 5; 3 finer (MS-67+ finest).
