- Stunningly Toned Pattern Ruble Novodel with a Great Pedigree RUSSIA. Silver Ruble Pattern Novodel, ND (1801)-CNB. St. Petersburg (Banking) Mint. Alexander I. PCGS SPECIMEN-61. Bit-H636 (R2, this coin cited). Edge engrailed right. An INCREDIBLY RAREand captivating specimen, this pattern novodel is virtually unrivaled, with just a few other representatives of the type known. Offering a tantalizing pedigree dating back to 1979, it displays a melange of cabinet toning that is composed of gunmetal gray and magenta, with some enchanting hues of cobalt, crimson, and goldenrod sprinkled in. Meanwhile, some glistening brilliance emerges from the protected areas, with Alexander's long neck and portrait seemingly leaping forth from the well preserved planchet.
