CHINA. Hunan. 10 Cash, CD (1906). PCGS MS-64 Red Brown Gold Shield. CL-HUN.33; KM-Y-10h.3; CCC-157; Duan-0777. Large mint mark variety. Seven flames on pearl ornamented with tooth-like pearl. The single finest certified of the variety on the PCGS population report. The piece exhibits a bold crisp strike with good definition of the design features that are highlighted by lovely cartwheel luster on both the obverse and the reverse. The surfaces exhibit plenty of original mint red on the obverse with hints of a blue sheen and nice milk chocolate color atop of the devices, while the reverse displays more of a mottled combination of milk chocolate and mocha accentuated by original mint red amongst the devices complemented by a blue iridescent sheen. An interesting die cud appears at the rim from about 6 to about 8 on the reverse giving an a neat late die state diagnostic.
