Like the 36-D above, this coin is an old friend, offered here for only the second time in the modern era, hailing from the same old time collection that was housed in a Wayte Raymond album prior to certification. A lower mintage issue, with only 8,007 distributed, it is among the very FINEST survivors graded! This coin really is quite beautiful for the type. A satiny luster booms on both sides, especially frosty in the centers. The peripheral devices are coated with a beautiful album toning, which creates a great frame for the well struck central devices. PCGS 18, NGC 16, CAC 13. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $6,500 and the CAC CPG value is $6,880; the most recent sold in May 2022 for $6,000. Only a handful are graded finer, all MS68+, none of which have ever sold in auction, making this one of the best available for the collector.
