详细说明: 1793 Liberty Cap Cent. S-13. Rarity-4-. VF-20 (PCGS). Deep olive brown with mildly lighter high points. Some tiny areas of light microgranularity are noted along with a few scattered ticks, but all told, this one holds up well to careful scrutiny. From a modest mintage for the type of just 11,056 pieces, struck between September 1793 and January 1794, and making for the rarest of all the 1793 cent design types. This rare and important design type was the artistic child of Joseph Wright who died of Yellow Fever in September 1793, probably without ever seeing his design come to fruition. The present piece was hand-selected by our consignor to deliver the most ""bang for the buck"" within the assigned grade. Indeed, we seldom see 1793 Liberty Cap cents with this much eye appeal within the VF designation. A great collector-oriented opportunity, this mid-grade '93 Liberty Cap cent will receive all the attention it deserves when it crosses the auction block.
