- By Far the Finest Graded of this Key Date MEXICO. 1/4 Real, 1844/3-Mo LR. Mexico City Mint. NGC MS-64. KM-368.6. Borderline Gem quality, possessing full brilliance over both sides and a remarkably crisp strike. The 4/3 overdate, remaining quite bold on this example, is not only rare, but is the undisputed key for this quartilla type. Easily the finest we've observed, with the only example in archived auction data being a NGC-graded AU58 that brought $1,000 hammer in a March 2011 Stack's Bowers auction.
