- MEXICO. Caballito Peso, 1914. NGC AU Details--Surface Hairlines. KM-453. KEYDATE. With a mintage of 140,000, this date is far and away the lowest of the 5 year series with relatively few surviving examples. The next emission of Peso-denominated coinage from Mexico City would not come until 1918, those being produced on much lighter planchets. Cleaned long ago now beautifully toned. Signs of handling consistent for the grade. Despite its shortcomings an attractive example. Estimate: $600 - $800.
