Some speckled rose and gold tone can be seen at various angles in the light. The GEM quality eye appeal is wonderful. The Teich Family purchased this lovely coin, sometime in the 1950s or 1960s from Stack's for $60, and the original inventory envelope is included. Only 470 Proofs were struck during this important Civil War year. PCGS 12, NGC 6, CAC 4. At the time we described this lot, this was the most recent example with CAC approval to sell, realizing $1,955 in February 2012.
