- 1911-S Indian Eagle. MS-61 (NGC). Boldly to sharply defined throughout with soft mint luster and handsome honey-rose patina. One of several low mintage entries in the challenging Indian eagle series, the 1911-S was produced to the extent of just 51,000 pieces. This issue was once thought to be equally as rare as the fabled 1930-S, but a number of examples have emerged from European sources beginning in the 1970s. Mint State survivors remain scarce in an absolute sense, however, the 1911-S ranking among the 10 most challenging Indian eagles in collect in Uncirculated condition.
