THE SOMMELIER COLLECTION. A truly spectacular CHOICE early No Motto Seated Liberty dollar! WOW! We have no doubt this coin sat for ages in an ancient Wayte Raymond or similar type of album where both sides could become imbued with a gorgeous toning pattern on both sides. Light gold mixes with deeper blue and aqua tones near the rims before fading into a lovely violet and rose-gold patina. The devices show sharp crispness and the luster is bold throughout. We note some very minor traces of contact, most notably in the field above the eagle's head, which account for the assigned grade. What a crazy eye appealing example! PCGS 18, NGC 7, CAC 9. This amazing looking coin sold back in April 2015 for a very strong $11,163. Only a half dozen are graded higher, MS64+ is the finest seen at PCGS and the Gardner coin (PCGS MS64 CAC) sold for a record $51,406 in June 2014. We think the published price and APRs since this coin sold are irrelevant when a coin of this quality and eye appeal are concerned. Good luck. Cert. Number 25691319 PCGS # 6929.00
