Struck in aluminum with a reeded edge.<br />     Even rarer than its copper counterpart Judd-1102, this aluminum die trials striking has an extant population of only two or three coins per the website uspatterns.com. An exquisite Gem with bold field-to-device contrast, both sides are bright, untoned and free of all but a few trivial blemishes that are largely confined to the right-obverse field.
