- 1740-D Sou Marque. Lyon Mint. Vlack-72. Rarity-4. AU-55 (PCGS). Struck 30.8 grains. on a somewhat smaller planchet than normal for the type, with virtually no border denticulation, although the peripheral devices on all on the flan. Upper left and right obverse soft, SIT faint, M in BENEDITUM obscured, but the detail is sufficiently bold elsewhere. Full silvering to light gray surfaces with strong eye appeal.
