- Undated (1861-1865) SILVER MINE TOKEN / AMERICA. Fuld-287/417 d. Rarity-9. Copper-Nickel. Plain Edge. MS-65 (PCGS). 19.5 mm. Lustrous satin surfaces exhibit pretty pinkish-tan patina. Most major design elements are sharply rendered, the characteristic obverse cud break not as advanced as seen on the 2018 Fuld plate token, but still large enough to obscure most of the letters E TO. Minor planchet flaw at the lower right reverse border, although both sides are expectably free of contact for the assigned grade. All varieties that make use of the Silver Mine Token obverse are elusive in numismatic circles and eagerly sought by specialists. Provenance: From the Q. David Bowers Collection.
