- 1786 New Jersey Copper. Maris 18-M, W-4890. Rarity-3. Bridle. VF-25 (PCGS). Glossy medium brown surfaces are overall smooth in hand with no significant marks. Areas of shallow pitting are noted for both sides, the most prominent of which is on the obverse at the end of the horse's chest. The diagnostic die crack that gives this variety its Bridle nickname is partially obscured by the pitting, but it is still discernible to the unaided eye. Well centered in strike and predominantly bold, this is a solidly graded and visually appealing example of this popular variety. PCGS# 501. NGC ID: 2B4J.
