- 1935-S Arkansas Centennial. MS-67+ (NGC). Otherwise pearl-gray surfaces exhibit enhancing blushes of vivid reddish-gold and steely-copper iridescence on the obverse, especially toward the lower border. Smooth and satiny in texture with a bold to sharp strike. From the first year of issue for this commemorative design type, with a mintage of just 5,506 pieces. Six of those coins were reserved for assay purposes, and of those that were distributed to contemporary collectors precious few have been preserved with enough care to approach Ultra Gem quality, as here.
