Deeply toned with some underlying brilliance, this piece exhibits some typical strike doubling, but overall presents a solid strike for issue. Featuring the baptismal scene of Christ and St. John the Baptist, these interesting issues were not specifically made for circulation nor did they convey a monetary value, but given their size, they acquired the name of 'baptismal talers.'
