"écu d'or au soleil du Dauphiné, premiere émission" struck at the Romans mint for Francois I. Obverse: Arms of France quartered with Dauphiné; reverse: floriate cross, dot under 2nd letter. Uneven strike but most details present, full legends obverse (with some points of weakness). Some luster remaining in peripheral areas. Estimate: $400 - $600. PCGS EF-40.
