- 1787 Fugio Cent. Pointed Rays. Newman 12-X, W-6820. Rarity-2. STATES UNITED, 4 Cinquefoils. MS-63 BN (NGC). Satiny deep brown surfaces are hard, tight and impressively smooth for the assigned grade. The strike is well centered and otherwise sharp, minor softness noted only at the lower right obverse and upper right reverse borders. While Newman 12-X is among the most common Fugio varieties in high grade, second only to 13-X, and several hundred were among the Bank of New York's hoard, few offer this level of quality and visual appeal.
