- T. W. J. Collection. From coin to coin, 1918-D can display strike accuracy of highly variable quality. Many competing examples display softer central details, although that is not so much the case here. Liberty possesses good, strongly delineated head details balanced against less accurate details on the shield. Aluminum-grey patina tends to downplay the luster, but there are no disturbing marks save a delicate scrape just above the center of the shield.
