详细说明: Lot 257 1844 N-4 R2. PCGS graded MS-64 Red & Brown.Lustrous mint red fading to light steel brown, at least half the bright original color remaining, mostly on the obverse. This piece would be a gem example if not for a pair of tiny splashes of darker toning on the Y and hair bun. The only contact marks are a few small nicks on the top of the ear and a pair of faint hairlines at the bottom of the wreath. MDS, die state c, with a thin rim cud break at stars 4-5. A fine die crack passes through the top of UNITED but the one at the F in OF has not formed. Called MS64 and CC#2 in the Noyes census, his photo #31237. Our grade is MS64, CC#2 in the Grellman census. The attribution and Great Pacific Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 2; none finer. Only 2 graded RB at PCGS.
