详细说明: FROM THE PERFECTION COLLECTION OF CAPPED BUST HALF DOLLARS Among the FINEST KNOWN O-111s that survive, and only a single NGC MS67 (last sold in 2002) could rival this borderline SUPERB GEM for top spot at the high end of the Condition Census. The cartwheel luster rolls so brilliantly on this high end GEM you might mistake it for an 81-S Morgan dollar. The most subtle dusting of pastel iridescence pops in the light, depending on the angle it is mostly antique silver gray with hints of lilac and gold. The devices are crisply struck from lightly clashed dies, you can see the outlines of Liberty's portrait surrounding the eagle. The eye appeal is incredible. PCGS 5, NGC 1, CAC 2. PCGS has graded just two coins finer for the date, a 66+ and a 67 (both ex Pogue). We cannot locate a prior appearance of this GEM. The current PCGS Price Guide value is $21,000 and the CAC CPG value is listed at $27,000. While no CAC MS66 has ever sold in auction, we sold the Friend-Gardner-Konstantine-Chicago Collection O-107 in September 2021 for $30,550.
