- 1865 Liberty Seated Dime. Fortin-101b. Rarity-6. Repunched Date. VF-35 (PCGS). Warmly patinated in pewter-gray with intermingled olive-russet highlights that appear to drift toward the borders. These are scarce in all grades, the disappearance of silver coins from the East and Midwest during the Civil War explaining why the Philadelphia Mint produced only 10,000 circulation strike dimes in 1865.
