From the Hallett Collection. Was this coin struck yesterday? It is certainly that lustrous and high end! Every detail is meticulously rendered by a forceful blow from the dies. Exceptionally frosty with a full, blooming satin luster that screams from all over SUPERB quality, untoned surfaces. A strong glass does not reveal a single flaw of any significance. It is hard to see why this coin is not graded MS67 FB, and while we make no warrantee that this coin will upgrade, it is certainly VERY HIGH END for the grade. PCGS 105, NGC 14, CAC 40. PCGS has graded a dozen coins MS66+ FB; the most recent of which sold for $4,080 in the 2018 FUN auction. Prior to that, one sold in July 2016 for $2,350 and there are two records at $3,173 and one that dates to March 2013 at $4,113. There are less than two dozen finer that are reported, including likely some duplication. This SUPERB coin is worthy of nothing but an amazing GEM set.
