1954 Carver/Washington Commemorative. MS-67 (NGC). Frosty pearlescent surfaces exhibit the lightest pale gold iridescence, generally only on the obverse. The design of this commemorative type, with the open field area on the reverse prone to bagmarks and initial handling by the Mint and subsequent shipping careless to say the least, was not conducive to the survival of high quality specimens such as that offered here. Indeed, at the Superb Gem level precious few exist for Registry Set and other discerning collectors. Provenance: From the Fort Lee Collection. NGC Census: 9; 0 finer.
