- GREAT BRITAIN. Silver 1/2 Groat Pattern, ND (1631-39). Charles I (1625-49). PCGS AU-50 Gold Shield. S-2856A; North-2687. By Nicholas Briot. Obverse: Uncrowned ruffled bust to right; Reverse: Crowned interlocked "CC's", "-B-" below. Well struck with few marks and original brown tone over both. Our first offering of this unusual type that depicts a rightward facing (versus leftward for all the circulating coinage) bust of Charles I. Estimate: $300 - $400.
