Very tough overdate Buffalo Nickel. One of the keys to the series. Medium gray tone with traces of luster in the devices. Surfaces are relatively smooth scattered circulation marks and even wear consistent with a somewhat higher grade. Buffalo nickels were struck with raised dates that were susceptible to even moderate wear. As such the top of the underlying 7 in the date can be seen with magnification. Overall a pleasing coin and an affordable example of this key date. PCGS 36, NGC 26, CAC 12. PCGS price guide and Red Book both list the date at $8,500. We sold the last PCGS graded coin to appear at auction for $7,050 in December 2015. An infrequent opportunity for the Buffalo Nickel collector to fill what is typically a hole in the set. Cert.
