A very high end GEM, and we have seen coins in 66 holders that did not possess the visual allure of this impressive quarter eagle. A thick satiny mint bloom sets the smooth surfaces aglow around the sharply struck devices. Wonderfully eye appealing! PCGS 496, NGC 460, CAC 84. There are only 2 coins graded MS65+ at PCGS. Neither has sold in auction. A PCGS/CAC MS65 sold in a September 2017 for $999; an NGC MS65+ CAC sold in June 2014 for $1,293; and a PCGS (non-CAC) sold for $1,998 in February 2017.
