- This gorgeously toned SUPERB GEM 47-D is tied for second FINEST graded at PCGS, with just a single MS68 FB graded finer. A forceful crisp strike rendered nearly all the fine details of Monticello to their fullest, especially the all important steps. The surfaces are framed by a multi-colored frame of toning on both sides accented by a thick satin frost. A couple of minor marks are noted, but do not detract from the outstanding eye appeal. PCGS 3, NGC 0. There is just a single coin graded finer. This is NOT the one we sold for $4,700 in March 2019. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $4,700. The sole MS68 FS sold in our December 2020 Regency Auction for $12,925. Worthy of the FINEST of Jefferson nickel Registry Sets, this coin will certainly see fierce bidding. Cert.
