- What a cool Proof Trade dollar. The eye appeal is monstrous for the CHOICE grade. This is a magnificently toned example and from an aesthetic point of view is a GEM. Watery mirrored fields have a bold reflection that glistens in the light. The obverse has a swath of deep violet, blue, tangerine, rose, magenta, and gold all meld together in a wavy pattern that is enlivened by the brilliant underlying mirrors. The reverse has a wonderful ring of album like toning in teal and amber-rose. Sharply struck, the devices are crisp and full. A few ancient ticks are noted but they do not detract from the outstanding eye appeal. Only 700 Proofs were struck. PCGS 63, NGC 43. The last one to sell in auction was over six years ago and was dark and not particularly attractive. This coin stands heads and shoulders above that and should bring very strong bidding when it crosses the block! Cert. Number 317361016 PCGS # 7055
