1899-O Barber Quarter. MS-65 (NGC). Soft satin luster flows over both sides of this brilliant, overall sharply defined example. Like most New Orleans Mint issues in the Barber quarter series, the 1899-O circulated extensively and is scarce to rare in all but the lowest circulated grades. In fact, Mint State survivors are surprisingly elusive given a fairly generous mintage of 2,644,000 pieces, and most grade no finer than MS-64. PCGS# 5623. NGC ID: 23YH.
