A Condition Census B-1, and a visually intriguing example at that! Truly a memorable near-GEM Capped Bust quarter. This die pair went through a lot in its time of service, and this wonderful example was struck from die state 3, which shows heavy patches of die rust and die clash marks, before the dies were lapped (resurfaced) to remove these flaws. The lustrous surfaces display a blush of rose-gray and russet-gold with accents of lilac, olive, and tan-gold. The devices are crisply rendered by a forceful blow from the dies. The eye appeal is exceptional and the die flaws give this near-GEM a great look. PCGS 6, NGC 15, CAC 4. This is the SOLE MS64+ graded by either service. There are just four coins graded higher. We matched this coin to the PCGS MS64 CAC ex Gardner, that brought $15,275 in May 2015. Now, seven years later, and in a 64+ holder, it should sell for much more. Good luck. Cert.
