- MEXICO. Cob 4 Reales, 1709-Mo. Mexico City Mint, Assayer Jose E. de Leon (J). Philip V. PCGS Genuine--Harshly Cleaned, VF Details. KM-40; Cal-Type-139. Weight: 12.84 gms. This salvaged Cob was likely covered in corrosion that prompted someone to aggressively clean it, as the coin now exhibits linear abrasions across its surfaces. Nonetheless, the piece retains a clear date and mintmark. The reverse cross is mostly intact as well, and the coin possesses certain eye appeal despite its shortcomings. Estimate: $200 - $300.
