A double louis d'or aux insignesstruck over a double louis d'or aux 8 L et aux insignes. The second strike has failed to obliterate the first strike, leaving the original date (1702) clear and the new date (1704?) muddled. The flan is large, extending beyond the denticles of the second strike. Some luster remains and this example of a RAREtype is overall quite presentable. Estimate: $1,000 - $1,500.
