- New York--New York. Undated (1836) Squire & Merritt. HT-322, Low-282, W-NY-960-15a Dies 2-A. Rarity-6. Copper. Plain Edge. Thick Planchet. 27 mm. AU-58 (PCGS). Medal alignment. Richly original antique copper surfaces are sharply defined with plenty of satiny luster remaining. Overall very smooth for the assigned grade, with outstanding visual appeal. This HT number is underrated (R4) and undervalued in the Rulau reference, Bowers (2015) describing 2-A as the scarcest die combination of Squire & Merritt tokens.
