- GREAT BRITAIN. Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria Bronze Medal, 1897. PCGS SP-64 Secure Holder.
76 mm. BHM-3510; Eimer-1815. By F. Bowcher. Crowned and veiled mature bust of Queen Victoria left; Reverse: Londinia with attendants, Commerce and the Colonies, at right presents Britannia seated at left with a cornucopia, Industry and Progress behind while the British Lion reclines below. Issued by the Corporation of London. Struck in high relief on a large thick planchet and quite imposing as such. No signs of handling or contact to be found anywhere attesting to the idea that this piece has spent virtually its entire existence in the silk lined black leather case of issue from Spink & Son which is also included. The inner surfaces are toned a handsome oxblood with deeper dark brown toning creeping in from the peripheries. A nicer example could hardly be asked for.
Estimate: $200 - $300.
Provenance: From the Michael Druck Collection.
PCGS #518912.
