Boasting a glorious mint luster that has a rich satiny frost and bold brilliance, this is a very high grade example for this conditionally challenging date; MS65s are scarce, MS65+ and higher grades are RARE. The lustrous sheen has a pearly-silver and clear golden iridescence on both sides. The central devices are somewhat blunt in strike, typical of coins from the New Orleans mint. The surfaces, fields and devices have a hint of contact, but no marks are singularly distracting. Ultra rare any finer, PCGS has graded just a dozen higher. PCGS 40, NGC 9. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $7,850; the average of the last ten APRs (going back to 2017) is $6,341.
