- Circa 1879 Sansom medal. Large format. Musante GW-60A, Baker-73. Copper, Bronzed. MS-66 (PCGS). 45.8 mm. 634.0 grains. Uniform dark chocolate brown surfaces with gentle mahogany accents on the highest points of the design. Satiny and lustrous. This is a later die state than seen on the medal above. The small vertical crack through the drapery, beneath the sword’s hand guard, now extends completely into the exergual line. At the right, a prominent break has formed at the lower right in the base of the motif, diagonally downward to the exergual line.
