- The 1927-S dime is a conditionally rare date with fully struck and separated bands on the reverse. A wealth of frosty mint luster accents a warm gold-tinged silver surface on both sides. Sharply struck up, the devices are fully defined all over, especially at the central band with is not just split, but also fully rounded. The eye appeal is excellent in every way. PCGS 35, NGC 4. Rare finer. The most recent example sold for $6,600 in November 2018 and examples have sold between $4,583 to $7,800 prior to that. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $6,500 and there are just 25 graded finer at PCGS. Worthy of a great set of Mercury dimes, this coin has a bold visual allure. Good luck! Cert.
